Former Obama Adviser, Brett King, and other global financial thought leaders reveal fresh insights on Reinventing Trust and Reinventing Banking.

The financial industry is under threat from multiple directions. One cybercrime takes place every 14 seconds. 486,000 identity records are compromised every hour and the global cost of Cyber fraud is expected to climb to a whopping $6 Trillion by 2021. Further disruption is being created by global digital transformation, changing customer expectations, a new wave of digital innovators and the increasingly stringent regulatory landscape. Against this turbulent climate, trust, the hallmark of the financial services industry and the critical digital currency is at an all-time low.

To help Canadian financial institutions address these complexities, and back by popular demand, Symcor’s COR.IQ team is hosting its exclusive 3rd annual Innovation Summit on November 7th in Toronto. The theme of this year’s summit is Reinventing Trust in the Digital Banking Landscape.

Brett King, world-renowned Futurist, "King of the Disruptors" and former advisor to the Obama Administration on Financial Technology and Banking, along with an elite line up of carefully selected speakers will provide new perspectives to these front-burner issues. They will also offer expert analysis and actionable knowledge about real-time payments, digital identity, cybercrime and behavioural analytics in fraud detection.

The globally acclaimed speakers include: U.K based Neira Jones, a highly respected authority on Real-Time Payments; Pamela Meyer, Certified Fraud Examiner, bestselling author, and Ted Talk top 10 speakers; Dr. Krister Shalm, a quantum physicist at the National Institute of Standards and Technologies; Adam Kardash, Head of Privacy & Data Management Practice at Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP. The results from the first-ever Canadian fraud study, a joint effort between Symcor Inc. and Deloitte & Touche LLP, will be shared by Clayton John Knight, Partner in Deloitte’s Forensic and Financial Crime Practice.

The summit will focus on the strategic imperative of Reinventing Trust and Reinventing Banking. Through this lens, the Innovation Summit will examine the dominant trends sweeping the globe and address the most significant threats and challenges facing the Canadian financial industry today and tomorrow. It will demonstrate the technology, strategies, and paradigm shift critically needed to overcome them. The specially invited high-level executives to the summit will add to the whole conversation at the summit which will also provide a premier networking experience.

Events such as these are imperative to the industry today as clearly highlighted by Cameron Field, Manager of Strategic Initiatives at BMO Financial Group, “a summit like this is mission critical. It enables you to see where the customer experience is going and how we are going to leverage technology to make the customer experience better.”.
