At the Canada Fintech Forum, Symcor’s Chief Data Governance and Privacy Officer, Della Shea, reflected on the issue of data ethics and trust during the panel discussion titled - The Future of Data: Innovation, Evolution and Compliance.
The panel discussed and deliberated how organizations can balance innovation in a hyper growth environment; how traditional organizations can evolve with new data strategies; and how to create a culture that spurs high velocity innovation while limiting risk.
Other panelists in the session included Chantal Bernier, National Practice Leader, Privacy and Cybersecurity at Dentons. Ms. Bernier formerly led the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. Other guests included Brian Carroll, Vice President Corporate Development and General Counsel at Hopper and Jack Fraser, Partner, Growth Venture Co-Investment Fund at Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC).
