Open Banking Expo Canada 2023

Symcor’s Saba Shariff, Vice President, Chief Strategy, Product and Innovation Officer was a panelist at the Open Banking Expo in Toronto on June 15.

The event took place at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Saba participated in two panel discussions: 

• POWERHOUSE PANEL DEBATE: Canada’s Open Banking revolution – it’s time to deliver!’ will be moderated by Krista Broughton, Director of Open Banking at Mastercard. Accompanying Saba are panelists Rizwan Khalfan, EVP, Chief Digital & Payments Officer at TD Bank; Mahima Poddar, Group Head, Personal Banking at EQ Bank; and Peter Tilton, Chief Digital Officer at Royal Bank of Canada. Together the panelists discuss the steps required to harness the full potential of Open Banking while ensuring successful and timely implementation in Canada.
• POWERHOUSE DEBATE: The tactical and strategic importance of Women in Open Banking’ will be moderated by Ellie Duncan, Head of Editorial & Broadcast, Open Banking Expo. Panelists include Carrie Forbes, Chief Executive Officer, League Data; Shruti Suman Awasthi, Director, Open Banking Strategy, CIBC; Natacha Boudrias Open Banking Business Lead, National Bank of Canada; and Krista Broughton, Director Open Banking, Mastercard. Participants discuss strategic steps that need to be taken to achieve equity across all facets of the Canadian financial services industry, including Open Banking.
